font issue convert pdf to word

Hello,

When I convert a PDF to word it is changing the font to some weird characters.  How do I correct this?  I already tried changing the font in the word document but it doesn't work.

    May be nothing you can do. Have fonts embedded in the PDF to avoid the issue you describe.

    Fonts are not what we "see" -- that's the glyphs. The "fonts" are the numbers - the encoding tables.

    Quality of PDF export depends directly on the "under-the-hood" quality of the PDF.

    If this is good the export has good stuff in. If not then it is garbage in.

    GIGO applies.
