Question

Form downloaded from Internet is blank

When I click on my VA-5 icon to do my state employer's withholdings tax, all I get is a blank, white screen. Sometimes, followed by this message: "Adobe Reader cannot open in Protected Mode due to an incompatibility with your system configuration. Would you like to open with Protected Mode disabled? When I agree (which I am wary of), I get the same blank screen.  What do I do now?

Here is a link to a blank VA-5 form that you can fill out directly from the site. This site PDFfiller also has some tutorials on how to fill out and several related forms that you might find useful.

    Hi mickery,

What version of Adobe Reader do you have installed? I suggest downloading the latest version from www.adobe.com/products/reader.html.  (It sounds to me like you may just have an outdated version of Reader.)

For other troubleshooting tips, please see: Protected Mode troubleshooting | Adobe Reader

Please let us know how it goes.

Sara, I have the latest version of Adobe Reader, and yet I’m still getting a blank, white screen when I click on the VA-5 gov form icon. Thanks for any help you can provide.
