free editing the text

i have a document saved and now im trying to bring it up on my lap top so i can edit my resume in a couple places

Hi crystal185,

When you talking about the document, do you mean PDF. If yes, you can edit the document in Acrobat Pro unless you dont have any security on that pdf.
