Garbled contents after export to Excel

Just purchased Adobe Export PDF. The first results are poor, i.e not usable. Large parts of the text are garbled.

What can I do to obtain better results (PS: I know that i can code a specific parser myself - but that takes 2 to 3 days of work)

Hello franzs82061558

As per the description above, you are getting a garbled text when you convert a PDF file to Excel, Is that correct?

Please try to convert the PDF files using the URL https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf and check if it makes any difference.

Try to Export another PDF and check. You may also refer to Text is garbled in converted file | ExportPDF Link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/troubleshoot-conversion-problems.html

Let us know how it goes.

I am also having problems converting my PDF to Excel. Some values are missing, items are not in their original columns and sometimes multiple rows have been converted into one. It is unusable like that.

Any suggestions?

Hi Rosst,

We're sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Is it specific to one PDF file or with all the PDF files? have you tried exporting another PDF to Excel and checked?

Try exporting the PDF file through the URL https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf and check. Is it possible to share the PDF file and the Excel file with us so that we can test it at our end?

Share the files through private message How Do I Send Private Message

You can refer and try the suggestions from the article Text is garbled in a converted file | Adobe Export PDF

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Hello Anand,

Thanks for your response. I tried to convert a file using https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf. It makes no difference.

I converted around 150 documents, they all share the same structure. I get only minor issues with the text, but significant issues (i.e. more than i can fix with a manual Quality assurance step) with (nested) tables.

Regards,

Franz
