has adobe create pdf been discontinued?

I keep getting an error once i initiate this application.

Are you refering to the CreatePDF Desktop Application? That was retired last week. See: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-4204

No it hasn't - though it has been renamed "PDF Pack".

Only the Workspaces service (team file storage, Buzzword, etc) is going to be taken down.
