Having trouble trying to combine PDF files into one file

Have 18 individual files already converted to pdf. Now I'm trying to combine into one/two files. i realize the limit is 12 files to merge at a time, but when I only try 9 files, I get a reading that there was a failure in combining. What am I doing wrong?

    I'd like to assist!

    A couple questions if you don't mind:

    Is there a chance any or all of the files you are trying to combine are secure or password protected? If so, PDF Pack will prevent them from being combined. Let me know.
