How can I highlight documents I am reading in the online version of Adobe Document Cloud. I can do this in the mobile app, but not on the desktop. There are no tools visible to do this, as far as I can see.

There's no such option to highlight text while reading a pdf in Cloud service, i would recommend you to either use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader for this purpose.
