How can I retrieve a document that showed an error while saving?

Hi,
I have been working HOURS on this document. When I decided to save it before closing, Adobe crushed. It said ERROR (don't remeber number/type) and clearly stated to click on YES in order to not lose all the modifications done in the document. I obviously cliked YES, yet another error came up saying that all the information was lost. I have been looking for temporary files, and it is nowhere to be found. Is it even possible to retrieve this document? I also have an automated-saving characteristic which, as you imagine, has decided to not work today for the whole day without me noticing.
