how come I can not scan from a printer

I have just installed Acrobat Xi standard, and am trying to scan it is only coming from files, I want to scan from my printer. how do I do it?

Hi ltservices,

Does Acrobat not recognize your scanner? If so, please follow the troubleshooting steps in this document to make sure that Acrobat can see your scanner, and that you're using the right scanner drivers: Troubleshoot scanner issues.

If you still need help after working through these troubleshooting steps, or need help with any of them, please let us know. If you do write back, please let us know what printer/scanner you're using, and whether you're on Mac OS or Windows (and what version). Knowing those details will help us sort out your scanning issue.
