I seem to have forgotten how to convert.  I get down to the point of conversion, and the Convert button is grayed out. I guess I need a beginners tutorial for adobe export

Hi Chuck,

Why sure! We have this document, which describes the process: Getting Started with ExportPDF.

And here are some additional steps to walk you through the conversion process once you're signed in (assuming that you're using the web interface, though the steps are very similar for Reader).

  1. Log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf using your Adobe ID and password.
  2. Click the blue Select PDF Files to Convert button.
  3. Click Choose Files from My Computer (or click Acrobat.com Files if you want to convert a file stored in your Acrobat.com account).
  4. Navigate to the PDF file that you want to convert, select it, and click Choose.
  5. Choose the format that you want from the Convert To pop-up menu (such as Word, or Excel).
  6. Make sure that the correct language is selected in the Document Language (for Text Recogntion) pop-up menu.
  7. Click the blue Export To... button.
  8. Click the Files tab in the upper-left corner; you'll see your converted file in the Recent Files list.
  9. Select the converted file, and then click Download to download the file to your computer. It should go to your Downloads folder. From there, you can open it and edit in the appropriate application (Word, Excel, and so on).

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have additional questions!

Sara

Hi chuckser12345,

If the Convert button is grayed out, it's likely that you're either not signed in, or your subscription has expired. I've checked your account, and you do have an active subscription, so that's not the problem.

Please clear the browser cache, and then log in at https://cloud.acrobat.com with your Adobe ID and password.

Let us know how it goes.

Sara

Thanks, Sara, for your timely response. I have done as you said. However, I would appreciate one more favor.

My prior use has always been compromised by shaky activation, including a lot of trial and error, as I seem to forgetfrom time to time.. Would you please be so kind as to provide me with a brief tutorial, showing (telling) how to use export from pc turnon to Export completion?

Thanks hugely, in advance!!
