How do I default Adobe DC to open with the TOOL CLOSED!  It is so annoying to have to close it every time.

    Hi sharih19449227,

    Close the Tools pane manually.  Now navigate to Edit menu -> Preferences -> Documents -> un-check " Open Tools pane for each document".

    Click OK to confirm the changes.

    Relaunch Reader DC & check if it fixes the issue.

    Are you using Acrobat DC or Acrobat Reader DC?

    Also let me know its exact dot version.
