How do I get fields that are recognized to become useable?

I am working on creating a Navlog for private pilots to use. I have a form already built and it looks like most of the available "text boxes" are recognized in the "Fields" section. However, when I preview the form none of the boxes will allow the entry of text. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
