How do I set Acrobat 8 as the default pdf reader?

    Which operating system are you using?

    For Windows (not screens/text may vary between different versions of Winows)

    • Select a PDF from your hard drive
    • Right Click
    • Select 'Open with'
    • If Acrobat 8 is not listed select 'choose default program'
    • Recomended programs should be displayed, if not select 'Browse...' locate Acrobat 8
    • Ensure the check box 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' is selected

    For MAC OSX

    • Open Finder
    • Select a pdf
    • From the Finder menu select File > Open With
    • If Acrobat is not listed select 'Other...'
    • In the 'Choose Application dialog select 'Reader'
    • Ensure the check box  'Always Open with' is selected
