how does one know that picture and message prepared to be sent with Adobe send have effectively been sent? is it through the changing of color of the mail address of each person being aimed.

Please see Acrobat.com Help | Using Adobe Send for some great how-to information on using Adobe Send. In particular, the "Viewing a file's tracking information" section describes how you can tell who's viewed or downloaded your sent files.
