How to convert PDF to word?

I get this message:

"Adobe could not open ' file' because it is either not supported file type or because the file has been damage (for example,. It was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

I have windows vista.  The files I am sending to convert were WORD files, scanned into my computer as PDF and I want to be able to return them to word so I can edit them.

Is there an eazier way to scan word files directly into my computer without having to convert them twice?

    Hi adiaz69@suddenlink.net,

You can use Acrobat or Export PDF Service to convert pdf files to word document.

If you are scanning word document then instead of scanning them to pdf you can scan it directly to .doc format.
