how to enter a name of the community

After the installation of Adobe Reader, I still cannot open my recovered pdf files.  Those are the files I created through scanning and saved them as pdf files to save space. and for reviewing.  They are my homework I did at school and online.  I did not know I should have saved them as word and sent them to my email.  It would have saved me a lot of trouble now.
