How to "flatten?" so my clip art isn't "lifted"?

Hi, 

I create resources for teachers and I draw all my own clip art. I've been told by some teachers that my clip art is easy to "lift" and steal. They've told me to "flatten" my PDFs so that can't happen. 

How do I protect my work?
