Is it possible to temove colored highlighter instances from existing Adobe Acrobat online or DC PDF document which has been accidentally marked up or highlighted by another former user and is unlocked but I keep clicking on the highlights and it does nothing that appears to allow me to choose "Remove highlights" or anything of the kind.

Ys, you may remove the highlights from the text. We have checked the document you have shared and can remove the highlights from it using the following steps.
1. Open the PDF and go to Tool > Comment.
2. Click on the highlighted text. The related comment will be selected in the right-hand pane.
3. Then click on Delete Key on your Keyboard Or you can right-click on the selected text and click on Delete from the list of the options.
