Question

How to let clients see certificate encrypted pdf on document cloud

Hello I have encrypted my pdf with a certificate using the protect shortcut in adobe acrobat DC. When I upload the secured PDF to the document cloud I am unable to access the document in both preview and download with the appropriate adobe id. I keep getting a message of "cannot preview file type" in the link to the document cloud. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to fix this problem? Thanks!

Hi Noel,

Try opening the Downloads folder where the PDF is saved and then open the file in Acrobat DC.

Let me know if you are able to open the file or not.

Note: When you secure PDF using a certificate, you specify recipients and define the file access level for each recipient. For instance, you can allow one group to sign and fill forms and another to edit text or images.

You can choose certificates from your list of trusted identities, but always remember to include your certificate in the recipient list so that you can open the PDF document later.
