I cannot convert my pdf files into word anymore (which I should as I have the annual subscription)

The record shows that you are subscribed to Adobe ExportPDF service on your current Adobe ID, try exporting the PDF file using the URL https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf with your Adobe ID and password on a browser like Chrome, or Firefox, or Safari and see if this brings any difference.

You can also use the free desktop version of Adobe Reader DC to use the service of Export PDF, download and install Adobe Reader and sign in with your current Adobe ID and password and export PDF files. To download Adobe Reader Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
