I have a paid subscription, but am asked to sign up and pay when I try to convert pdf to word. Why?

As per the issue description mentioned above, you are getting message to subscribe to Adobe Export PDF service when trying to export pdf, is that correct?

Try to export pdf using web browser at this link: https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf​  , does that work?

Also, try to logout from the service, login again and try again.
