Question

I have paid for the Export facility but the documents I converted to Word were partly illegible and impossible to amend or use. Word were shown misspelt. A total waste of money. I had to retype everything in Word instead. Disappointing

Where is the support from Adobe? I have paid for the Export facility but the documents I converted to Word were partly illegible and impossible to amend or use. Word were shown misspelt. A total waste of money. I had to retype everything in Word instead. Disappointing. IS this "community" the only place to complain?

    Hi jeffslaw,

I'm sorry that your ExportPDF subscription isn't working out for you. There were some recent updates that should help alleviate some of the issues you're seeing. Please log out, clear your browser cache, and then log back in. And, if you're using Adobe Reader, make sure that you have the most current version by choosing Help > Check for Updates.

If you're still having trouble, it would be helpful to know more about the files that you're trying to convert. The quality of a conversion depends largely on the quality of the PDF file. And that quality can vary if the PDF was created by a third-party application.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi Sara,

thank you for your swift response. The documents were County Court Summonses with my particulars of claim typed on them so a variety of fonts. The documents are standard public documents though.

    Hi again,

Do you know what application created those public documents? For example, were they created from a scanned documents, or by a third-party application? Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and formatting information? for an explanation of how ExportPDF handles conversions. It does come down to a matter of how well the PDF is written.

I would be happy to take a look at one your files, unless they're confidential.

    Best,

    Sara
