    Hi Louise,

    I'd like to help!

Many times it has to do with the quality of the PDF.

    I have a few questions...

What was the original file type prior to being converted to PDF? Is it perhaps a scan?

Here is an option for you:

    OCR

Let me know if this helps!

    Kind regards, Stacy

hi stacy,  thank you so much for your response.  the first 3 pages were typed, however, the rest were scanned.  i did print out the info on OCR and scanned pages but have not been able to figure out quite how to do it as yet.  i am 79 but still work full time and work with my computer from 3 to 6 hours a day, so although not very pc savvy, still fairly with it.  thanks again,    louise

    Greetings Louise,

Just let me know where you get 'stuck' and I can try to walk you through that particular step. Be sure to open your Reader program before you start. Then open your document within Reader.

Also, where you see 'language' under it has the word 'change' click on that. Below all the choices of languages there is the option to 'disable text recognition. To the left of the word 'disable' is a small circle. Click on that. Select 'ok'.

Then you can convert your document from there.

Let me know how it all goes and if this was helpful!

    Warm regards, Stacy
