I signed up for free trial, too, to see if my scanned PDF document could be converted to excel.  But, when I am in the PDF document and select convert to excel, i then have the option to view the converted docs.  I click on that and it brings me to a tutorial.  At the end of the tutorial, I click "File" on the tab as the tutorial indicates and none of my documents are found.  So, what gives??

If you do indeed use Acrobat, you need to perform text recognition (OCR) before exporting a scanned image to another file format.

    Hi eagmanle54,

Did you download a trial of Acrobat? When you say "it does not work," are you saying that the Excel file that you create by converting a scanned PDF isn't what you expected (wrong characters, or text in the wrong columns)?

The quality of a conversion really depends on the quality of the original PDF. And that quality can vary depending on how the PDF was created. Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and formatting inf…

It is likely that the quality of the scan is leading to a less-than-favorable conversion. Are you having the same trouble with other Excel files that you convert?

    Best,
