If I get the basic pdf to Word and Excel conversion service, does it also convert graphics embedded in Word docs?

You can subscribe for Export PDF services ( https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf ) using which you can convert any of the file formats mentioned in this KB doc. Supported file formats | ExportPDF, Adobe PDF Pack.
