menu options deleted when moving to second monitor/screen

I have my laptop attached to my monitor via hdmi.  Every time I try to move the Acrobat XI window to the other monitor, I lose the menu bar and cannot expand or reduce the window size.  What can be done?  I just purchased this Acrobat XI today and can't get a hold of anyone for tech support.
