PDF/A

Hi,

We use Acrobat Reader DC (Version # 2020.006.20034) in our office.  We are now being asked to provide a PDF attachment in PDF/A format (file extension).  We do not have that option.  Is it possible to obtain this option in the software version we have?  Or, is this an add-on only, meaning additional cost?

    Certainly not free, but then again Reader can’t make PDF at all

    1. How do you currently make your PDF files?
    2. What specific version of PDF/A have you been asked for eg PDF/A-1a, PDF/A-2b? They are not interchangeable and the amount of work can vary enormously.
