PDF converted to a messy Word Doc, why is it so

I just purchased PDF converter and tried to convert pdf to a Word doc and half of the document was jumbled up, I restarted my computer and did it again and the same thing happened. Does anyone know why this is happening, there is no point having the converter if I have to make up a whole new document

    Would you mind telling me more about your PDF? What type of document was it prior to becoming a PDF? Are there any graphics or pictures? Was it scanned?
