PDF opened in Acrobat through browser randomly gives errors when posting comments

When opening PDFs using Adobe Acrobat Online, I will try to post comments to the PDF and be met with the error “We were unable to post your comment, please try again.” This will continue until I close and reopen the PDF, then I can post comments again for a while until the error comes back.

    Hi @Noah Friesen

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear this is disrupting your review workflow. The intermittent "We were unable to post your comment, please try again" error in Acrobat Online is typically caused by a session timeout, a stale browser cache, or a temporary sync break between the browser and Adobe's cloud services.

Please try the steps below and see if that works:

Clear your browser cache and cookies
Clear your cache and cookies then close and relaunch the browser completely before reopening your PDF.

Check your browser and extension setup

    • Make sure your browser is fully up to date.

    • Temporarily disable any browser extensions, particularly ad blockers, privacy shields.

    • If you're on a corporate network or VPN, try without it briefly to rule out a firewall blocking the comment sync calls.

    Try a different browser
Acrobat Online works best on Chrome or Edge. If you're on Firefox or Safari, switching to Chrome is worth a quick test to see if the error persists.

If none of the above helps, it would be really useful to know:

    • Which browser and version are you using?

    • Is this happening on one specific PDF or all files?

    • Are you on a work/corporate network?

That'll help us narrow it down further and isolate the issue so we can fix it.
