PDF text not accurately exporting to Word.

PDF text is not accurately exporting into Word. It looks like this:

they :::JC.lude emotior.a: mat:.i:ity,

Why? I paid for Adobe PDF because I need PDFs to export correctly into Word. It's useless if it does not work correctly.
