PDF underlying programme

Hi All,

I notice when I convert files into PDF that Adobe will open the underlying programme and use that to perform the conversion.  I suppose that the answer is obvious, however I just wanted to confirm that this is the case for all of the different file types that Adobe XI can convert?

I am using XI on a Mac, can you please tell me which programmes you need to have installed on the Mac to convert the following file types:-

EPS

Txt

TIFF

PCT

PNG

3D Files

BMP

GIF

HTML

JPEG
