Question

Problem with colourmanagment in Adobe Acrobat

Hi there,

I have a very specific problem with my printfiles. The printing house needs the colour with a max. ink coverage of 280%. So I reduced it in the pictures and saved my pdf. Everything seems correct when I open and controll it with Acrobat, but when it is opened with another computer the colour values are totally messed up and the black isn't build up with 100% black, but with all CMYK colours. For that - the maximum ink coverage is to much for printing again ...

It also occured to me, that sometimes when I open the file this wrong colour scheme is seen on my application too. But when I close it, and restart, or wait for a few minutes its allright again, as I have saved it ...

Is this a bug, or did I make a mess with the settings when I saved my file? (Test file attached. The black text

is set to be 100% black, the picture in CMYK)

Every help would be very appreciated,

thank you 🙂

best regards

Barbara

Hi barbaras54073829,

Thank you for reaching out.

Would you mind sharing more information on this?

As you mentioned above, when the PDF is opened on another machine. Do you mean that you also open the PDF on Acrobat on another machine? Or using another application?

Did you create this PDF in Acrobat or some other application?

In the meantime, we will check the PDF you shared.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Dear Meenakshi,

My Colleague and I use Adobe Acrobat Pro (64-bit) and the colleagues in the other department have the standard Adobe Reader. We don't use any other Pdf-Readers. The real problem is that my file does not use the colourscheme I want when I upload it to the printhouse. I tried and dissembled all colourmanagment, so it uses the colours as I have build them up in Illustrator and photoshop, but it still doesn't work as I want. I'm out of ideas what to do now.

Maybe you have some input, that would be great.

Best regards

Barbara

Hi barbaras54073829,

Sorry about the delay in response.

Please let us know if you are creating the original file in another application.

Share the steps you do to convert it to PDF. Also, please share the screen recording of how the changes occur. That would be helpful for further investigation.

Did you notice this behavior with this particular file?

If possible, please share the image file and the PDF with us so we can replicate the behavior.

Share the Acrobat and OS version numbers. You may use the steps suggested in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
