.PS file generation fails

Hi, I have an application(VB EXE) which uses Acrobat distiller 5 on windows 2000 to convert Word(2000) to PDF. Conversion happens in two steps 1) word to .PS file using print as file 2) PS to PDF using FiletoPDF Method. Application was working fine till date but when we upgraded OS Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 and Acrobat Distiller V 5 to Acrobat Standard V9 which has Acrobat Distiller v9(Standard).The conversion of Word to PDF is not happening as expected. Issue Overview: Application(EXE) process requests one by one and converts word to PDF. For Eg: when we have 100 request for conversion It works fine for around 20 document conversion, then it starts generating PS with 0 KB in the actual path which it supposed to generate the PDF and it generates the same PDF document with wrong file name in MYDocuments folder with the content of actual PDF. When we re-run the program again for the same 100 request. It works fine for 40 or 60 documents again it generates the PS with 0 kb for 20 odd documents and corrects itself automatically. It would be great to know what is actually causing this unstability in PDF conversion.Any help would be great on this.
