Save new excel (2010) document as adobe acrobat pdf, than Excel crashes

Hi ,

On Windows 7, Office 2010, (x68) Adobe Acrobat DC 15: When users try to save a new Excel file than excel is crashing after convertion to pdf.

(both excel doc and pdf gets created and saved).

When using the Adobe Acrobat office addon button on the taskbar everything works fine.

It only happens with Excel and only when trying to save a new (unsaved) excel document to pdf.

When saving an existing .xls document its working fine. (No issues with other Office apps like Ms Word)

We repaired Office and Adobe Acrobat installations, registered the Adobemsoffice.dll with regsvr32, didn't solved the problem.

Hope someone can offer some help to get this solved in our working environment.

With kind regards,

CHaighton

The Save As PDF functionality in Excel is a Microsoft function. You should contact a Microsoft Excel forum for this.

Hi CHaighton,

We apologize for the delay in response to your query.

As per the description given above, that when you are trying to save an excel file to pdf then excel is crashing. However it doesn't after saving and then converting. So I assume that you are directly saving the .xls file as .pdf?

If this is the case then would suggest you to try using "Save as Adobe PDF" to get the conversion done correctly or use the Acrobat ribbon to create pdf.

Saving the excel as .pdf using "Save As" functionality is not recommended as its MS inbuilt converter and it works on different mechanism and we don't have hold on that.
