Question

Scroll bar to appear automatically in fillable form

Hello

When I send out a fillable pdf some of the boxes the text runs over so a scroll bar appears when you click into the box. However many of the recipients don't notice there is extra text as the scroll bar doesn't appear automatically, it appears when you click into the box.

Is there any way of making the scroll bars appear automatically so recipients are alerted to the fact that there is more text in the box?

Thanks

@Jean5C74 No, you cannot make the scroll bar appear automatically on a fillable PDF form field in Adobe Acrobat. The scroll bar is designed to become visible only when the user clicks inside the text field and the content exceeds the visible area. But, what you could do, is make an instruction or tip right next to the text box. For example, you could say, "Note: This box contains additional text. Click here to see more." This tells the user that there's more to see.

If you don't want to do that, try reducing the font size within the form field's properties. This might allow more text to fit without a scroll bar appearing. Or make the text field larger to accommodate the maximum expected amount of text. This way, the scroll bar may not be needed at all.
