Using Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Reader XI. Fonts look terrible when opening and creating pdf files. Not sure if it happened with an update. Settings look okay. Resolution?

Have been using DC for months with no issues.  Suddenly my files have awful, electronic looking font when I open or create a pdf.  Settings look okay.  Any suggestions to resolve this issue?
