Question

Very poor conversion to Excel

Using the conversion service for the first time. Not good:

Tried to convert a scan (pdf file) of an Excel spreadsheet into an Excel file. The conversion produced some of the numbers and text, but the visual layout of the page was completely missing. It didn't look like a spreadsheet at all. All it produced was a long, vertical  list of the numbers and text labels that were on the spreadsheet, some of them in colors that were sort of like those on the sheet. There were NO formulas. Sadly the conversion was completely useless. Is this outcome normal for the conversion process? If this is all Adobe's conversion service can produce then I am cancelling. I'd be grateful for any feedback or directions for getting a better outcome.

Thanks,

Wayland

Hi waylandpm,

Is this happening with all files or with specific one?

Would you send your PDF document to dim86501@adobe.com as an email attachment?

I will check it from my end. Please add the link to this forum post for reference.

Hi waylandpm,

I was able to replicate the issue at my end.

It seems to me that the issue is with the way the PDF has been created.

PDF file is created through third party software.
