when i convert a pdf to a word doc it is not an exact copy

The quality of the conversion depends on the quality of the PDF, which can vary depending on what application created it. While the PDF may look great onscreen, it's possible that it wasn't written to PDF standards, and therefore, doesn't have all the information necessary to ensure a clean conversion.
