When trying to Combine files Adobe DC kicks me out of the program

I'm trying to combine multiple pdf's into one file, however,  ever time I go to add any files, the program boots me out completely.  Any ideas of what could be going on?  I'm working on a windows version of Adobe DC.

    Hey frontd310121,

    Please check whether any of those files are protected (under (File > Properties) which might be preventing them to combine with other files.
