Question

When using Export PDF to Word it has suddenly stopped converting graphs into an editable format. Can this be fixed?

I have converted literally thousands of reports with the same type/size graph on them from PDF to Word then back to PDF as I need to edit the graph by changing the color of the bars and adding a few lines. I used to be able to ungroup the graph and then regroup and save as a PDF. Now, I can't ungroup them and have to add objects on top of the graph and when I go to resave as a PDF the graph is completely garbled with lines all over the report and bars all over the place. How can I fix this?

Hi hahjessica,

Is the problem specific to one PDF file, or are you now unable to convert any PDFs with graphs? Are you converting via the web interface, or from within Reader?

There have been some recent updates to ExportPDF, so if you're using the web interface, please log out, clear the browser cache, and then log back in. If you're using Reader, choose Help > Check for Updates. If that doesn't work, I would be happy to check out one of your files, if you'd like to send it my way. (Let me know, and I'll send you my contact details in a private message.)

Best,

Sara

It's not just one file, I convert probably 30 of them a day. Every once and a while, it will let me edit the graph (the magic number seems to be 7 bars or less) but anything over and I can't ungroup the graph. I work for a DNA lab that sends out the same type of report for results but obviously each is different. I could send you one with the patient name removed and you can take a look.
