Question

When using Exprt PDF, the choice of language for the document to be exported is sometimes very restricted, while sometimes many more languages are available. What's the matter?

Hi Jos Mertens,

That's interesting! The list of available languages shouldn't change. Can you please provide an example of what you're seeing?

Are you converting via the ExportPDF website or from within Reader? The language choices should be the same. (The list is much longer in Acrobat, but with Acrobat, you don't access the ExportPDF service when you save PDF files as Word.)

This document shows which languages ExportPDF supports for OCR: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/using-ocr-exportpdf.html

Does what you see in Reader/the ExportPDF website match what's listed in that document?

Best,

Sara

Dear Miss,

I export from Acrobat reader. The software is using Dutch and the standard language for conversion is English 5US). Most of the time I have only the choice between English (US) English (UK), Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano and Chinese).

Sometimes I get all the choices you mention, but not often and it seems unpredictable.

Many thanks,

and kind regards

Jos MERTENS,

Advocaat.
