why am i having conversion problems??

i have tried to conver 3 files two times each and i keep getting conversion failure.  never had this problem before.

    they are simple RTF docs and i am trying to converting them PDF

    on a deadline.......please help

    of course...........i call tech support and wait on hold for 25 mins to have someone in India tell me there is nothing he can do to help and they will note the problem and get back in touch with me in 2-3 business days.  great.  i am sitting here waiting to send docs and will now miss my deadline for something on adobe's end.  and let me get this straight,.......i am paying for a service which is now costing me $.  something not right here.
