Why do my scanned documents ( from HP Printer) go into adobe reader and not to my desk top?

When I scan from HP printer , my documents go into my adobe reader and not my desk top. I have to go into adobe reader and search for my scanned document, then save as to the desk top??

    I suggest after you scan the document, you simply need to change the scanner preferences and it will give you an option to choose the location to save the file.

    However, for better understanding please confirm the workflow from scanning of the document to saving it.
