Will not open some pdf's from certain people

I belong to a yahoo group and we share pdf's back and forth very frequently.  I have at this point 3 seperate email addresses that I cannot open their pdf's.  Nobody else appears to have any issue with these pdf's.  Having said that, these are the only pld's I am haveing trouble with at this time.  I have Acrobat Pro, new version of Reader on a Mac Pro with OS x 10.6.8, and also sent them on to my PC and a friend with a Mac Pro.  The group does not seem to be having trouble with these emails.

Hi montyghughes,

Are you trying to open the PDFs directly from the email, or saving the attachments, and then opening the PDF files directly in Reader or Acrobat? Do you receive any sort of error message when you try to open these files? Do you know what these three folks are using to create the PDF files?

So many questions! But having these answers should help us get to the bottom of the problem.

Best,

Sara

Thanks for the quick reply - The message reads - 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.' As far as I know most if not all of the members use some form of acrobat.

What is interesting is that a member, who I do not have problems reading his PDF's, sent me the same files sent to him from these folks and they opened with no problem.

I have asked all three to send me what their basic setup is, only one has replied to the moment. = IAdober Reader XII, Acrobat Professional 6.0 and O.S Windows XP Professional
