Would a Wacom tablet be useful for Adobe Photoshop in an online college class?

One of my online college classes shall be Beginner Photoshop, but I am skilled with that Photoshop CC and Photoshop Elements 6.0 already. I have just bought a Wacom Intious Pro to use with my Adobe Photoshop's. I am unskilled with it, so I would like to know if it would even be helpful with my classwork in the future.
