Question

Accessing deleted files

I used Adobe Spark to create two very important personal projects writing about my international travel experiences. I missed when it transfered over to Express, but I was able to access my files through the spark link until a few months ago. I recently removed Adobe software from my laptop I didn’t use (Lightroom, Photoshop), and now all my files are gone. I must've deleted access to my cloud/something important because when I log into Adobe Express, it’s like I never used it before. I am using the same email I used for both projects. I don’t see any of my files or final projects, and a deleted folder doesn’t appear anywhere.

This writing is so dear to me, as one was even nominated for a literary award. I know this is probably my fault, but please tell me the files are still in a cloud somewhere where they can be brought back.

    Hi @Exciting_Odyssey582f,

First, I'm sorry, I can tell how much this writing means to you, and that worry is completely understandable.

The honest part: I can't check your account from here, and whether the files can be recovered depends on things only our support team can see (which account they're tied to, and any backup or recovery options). I don't want to promise they're definitely retrievable, but I also don't want you assuming they're lost when they may not be.

What I'd do, and I'd do it soon:

    • Contact Adobe support directly so they can look at your account: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen

    • When you reach them, mention the Spark to Express migration specifically, that you're using the same email as your original Spark projects, and that your files stopped appearing after you removed other Adobe apps. That context helps them check whether there's a second account or profile involved.

    • Have any old Spark links or emails handy if you still have them, they can help support trace the projects.

I'd reach out to them sooner rather than later, since some recovery options can be time-sensitive. I really hope they're able to get your writing back.
