Add a filter in Express

Hi,

I want to add a filter to my images - a grain effect. In all the tutorials I have seen so far there pops up a right column with all the features. I can't seem to find it in my web application. What could be the reason? For my images I only get the left column with effects, corrections, etc. but no filter options.
