Question

Adobe Express MP4 export fails because Premium Stock assets can presumably not be licensed

Dear all,

I repeatedly experience problems when downloading Adobe Express projects as MP4 files. So far, I have narrowed the issue down to projects that contain Adobe assets such as photos or design elements.

I have an active, paid Creative Cloud Pro subscription. In Adobe Express, the relevant assets display the Premium icon, and the tooltip states: “Du hast vollen Premium-Zugriff.”

Nevertheless, when I try to download a project containing one of these assets, the export fails at approximately 90% with the generic error message:

“Herunterladen fehlgeschlagen – Sorry, da hat etwas nicht geklappt. Versuche, die Datei erneut herunterzuladen oder erneut zu veröffentlichen.”

The browser console shows the following warning:

“Error downloading as MP4 StockLicensingErrorError: Unable to license stock content. Stock assets with IDs 365356752 require a Creative Cloud paid plan.”

I assume that this licensing error is causing the MP4 export to fail. However, I do not understand why it occurs, as I have an active Creative Cloud Pro subscription and Adobe Express indicates that I have full Premium access to the asset.

Has anyone experienced the same issue and found a solution?

all my best,

Andreas

    Hi @Abhi.G @ ADBE ,

thank you for looking into this.

Please let me know if I should do the same sequence of action with non premium stock assets to show that downloads are in principle working. Also, in case a complete session recording (HAR) would be required, please let me know so that I can prepare one for you.

Hi Andreas, this sounds like the Premium asset is being recognized correctly in Adobe Express but the licensing check is failing during the MP4 export. I’d first try replacing the specific stock asset with another Premium asset and then export again, as that can help determine whether the issue is tied to the individual asset or the subscription.

Also, if you’re looking for ideas for creating and sharing polished birthday visuals, I’ve collected some examples and inspiration here: https://fraugeburtsta.de/

Hopefully Adobe can clarify whether this is a licensing-server or account-recognition issue.

    Hi @aheinzel

Sorry to hear you are running to this issue. This should not happen if you have a paid plain.

Are you able to add new premium Stock assets? I am asking to confirm whether the error only happens at download time. This will help investigate.

    Thanks
