Adobe Express: SVG size being ignored

Hi Adobe team,

Whenever we add an SVG to the document in Adobe Express, the SVG width and height properties are being ignored, and it always pastes it with the same sizes.
Our SVG has both width and height as 24px + viewBox as "0 0 24 24". So we expect it to be pasted with 24px. This behavior works properly for other image formats such as png. So it seems like a bug to me!

We're using the latest Adobe Express web version on MacOS Sonoma Version 14.6.1

SVG and PNG examples containing 24px width and height is in the attachment.

Hi @Streamline_Icons,

I’d like to inform you that what you’re seeing is actually expected behavior based on how elements are placed on the canvas.

When you drag an element into your design, it first appears at its original preview size. Once it’s dropped onto the page, it automatically adjusts to fit your canvas.

Here’s how that scaling works:

  • The element resizes to fit within about 30% of the smallest side of your page
  • If your page is quite small (under 200px on its shortest side), the element will instead scale to about 50% of that side

This helps keep elements at a usable and visible size without overwhelming your layout.

Tarun

Hi @Tarun Saini .

1. I'm using Chrome, but the same happened on Firefox as well.
2. I'm just trying to drag&drop the file
3. Here is the screen recording: https://www.loom.com/share/ac080bf262b64391aa4a9d4726983132

Hi @Streamline_Icons,

Thanks for reaching out! We're sorry to hear about this. Could you please share a few more details so we can investigate the issue?

  1. Which browser are you using? (e.g., Chrome on Windows 11, Safari on macOS)
  2. Are you uploading the SVG directly or importing it from another Adobe app (like Illustrator or InDesign)?
  3. Can you share a screen recording of the issue?

We're here to help, just need some info.

Regards,

Tarun
