Loving this! It helps get past the huge frustration of the selected layer view (which is really terrible IMO - a bit like looking through a microscope at a small part of a project and being smacked around the back of the head if you try and look at the bigger picture 😉 )

It really goes to show that everything makes more sense when you can see all the layers and how they interact, especially when you have animations timed differently.

One thing I would say - don't be afraid of showing ALL layers, not just those for the current scene. That would be even better and give a 100 mile-up overview. I think you definitely have the tendency of dumbing things down too much for the non-designer audience. Maybe have it as an option or another view option. Default to basic but give the designer users the option. If I want to see 367 layers, I'm fine with that! 😉

great work though team 🙂

Hey Paul!

Thanks for your feedback Paul! I'm a PM on the Express team who worked on this improvement, glad to hear it's sped up your creation time! I've shared your note with the team as well 🙂 We made a recent update where you can drag the top bar of the timeline to extend/shrink how many layers you see within a scene. Give a spin and let us know what you think.

thanks,

Lisa
